Roseberry Topping, North Yorkshire

Distinctive and iconic landmarks with fine views across North Yorkshire, birds such as the chiffchaff, willow warbler and blackcap, and bluebells in May.

Shaped by a combination of a geological fault and a mining collapse in 1912, Roseberry Topping hill has become a beloved go-to for walkers in the Tees Valley area. Perfect if you’re dreaming of dramatic scenery, some have said the half-cone summit and jagged clifftop reminds them of the stunning Matterhorn in Switzerland.
Rame Head, Cornwall

A coastal escape, hidden coves, red admiral butterflies and a charming fishing village.

Overlooking the stunning landscape of Whitsand Bay, this south-west walk features woodlands littered with wildflowers, chirps of the stonechats, and historic maritime defences, including Picklecombe Fort. Don’t forget to take in one of the world’s largest natural ports when you pass Pier Cove, too.
Brigsteer Woods, Cumbria

Located in the south of the Lake District, this easy to moderate walk takes you past Helsington Church and reaches into historic Westmorland. Awash with the colours of spring, the Brigsteer Woods also overlook the beauty of the Southern Fells.
Lulworth Cove to Durdle Door, Dorset
What can I expect?
Local flora and fauna with stunning views of the Jurassic Coast.

Described as “some of the finest scenery in the country” by travel bloggers, this 1.25-mile walk towers over almost 400 feet above the shore line. The picturesque undulating limestone cliffs and turquoise shade of the water makes for a calming walk to take with friends or solo. Look out for swimmers on warmer days.
Blackboys, Sussex

Rich history from the south east of England and some four-legged sculptures that won’t bite.

Starting at The Blackboys Inn, the route winds through country lanes and across stiles to Kiln Wood. Tickerage Mill is one of the highlights, which was used back in 1803, and is clearly visible from the footpath. When you reach the woodland, you’ll come to a clearing containing sculptures of wild boar and return to the inn for a well-deserved drink (restrictions permitting).
Buckland Abbey, Devon

Tranquillity and history from an ancient gem in the Tavy Valley landscape.

45 to 90 minutes.

All walkers are welcome here, as Buckland offers up a variety of routes – from dog-friendly mooches to advanced, long-distance trails. Part-museum, part-house, the Abbey itself is filled with treasures and remains virtually untouched since it was built in 1278. Around it, you’ll discover meadows, orchards and woodlands, with an unmissable carpet of bluebells in spring.
Water of Leith, Edinburgh

The city’s finest art culture and a few moments of calm away from the hustle and bustle.

Ideal for getting the family outside or a solo daily stroll, the walkway provides a bit of respite from the business of normal life. Passing through many areas of interest, including the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art and the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, you can also listen to audio that plays special tracks as you explore the Water of Leith from Balerno to Leith.
Five Horseshoes, Oxfordshire

A series of circular walks that start and end at the charming country pub.

Enjoy some fresh air and a gentle walk around one of the three The Brakspear Pub trails. We love route one for its USP: Russell’s Water – the same duck pond that featured in the film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang! Each route starts and begins at The Five Horseshoes pub.
Capel Curig, Snowdonia

From epic walks to easy rambles, Capel Curig has a selection of routes around Carneddau, Glyderau and the Moelwynion. If you’re up for a challenge, hit Eryri Way, which can be completed in two to three days, or conquer a mini mountain on the Crimpiau from Capel Curig walk.
